There has been some talk recently about New Zealand becoming a state of Australia.

On the news the other night they were talking about how MPs are talking about the possibilities. They also said that if we were to have a merger with NZ that we’d then get the best Rugby team in the world and they’d get the best Cricket team. Pretty funny to think of it like that.

Apart from those points there are benefits for trade, migration, currency, etc. I’m not sure if i entirely agree with the idea though, sure it would be great to have the pluses that have been stated by the pollys and media, but there would be plenty of negatives to go along with that. For the NZ people mainly, having a country of their own to become a state of another country seems a bit fascist.

Anyway i could only imagine if there was a merger and in a few generations time there would be a generation of half Aussie half Kiwi people. I can imagine people saying something like, (In a part Aussie, part Kiwi accent) “G’day mate, wanna grab some fush and chups eh bro”. That would be hilarious.

Check out the article Australian MPs suggest Australia and New Zealand unification for more reading on the topic.

To finish this entry i’ll give you a funny NZ joke (well funny for Aussies anyway). Most times that i meet a Kiwi i say this joke to them. I never get tired of this one. For those that don’t know there are ongoing jokes (and insults) exchanged between Aussies and New Zealanders, in particular about them like sheep, in a more than friendly way. :)

Q: How do Kiwis find sheep in long grass?

A: Fuckin unbelievable!

It's been 10 years since Tupac Shakur's death and he would have to be one of my favourite musicians. I enjoy all of his music and what he's been able to do as an artist. Here's a great article about remembering Tupac a decade after his death, 10 years later, Tupac's legacy lives on.

At the start of the week the world was shaken by the death of a true Australian icon and legend Steve Irwin. Although it was a great shock and very sudden, he died doing what he loved.

Yesterday another Aussie great passed away, again doing what he loved. Racing in a rally in Western Australia, Peter Brock was the second legend Australia has lost in the past week.

These two guys were household names and were the best at what they did.

Losing such icons has brought together communities and has brought great sorrow to many around the country and the world.

My sympathy goes to their families. The memories of these two legends will live on far into the future.

Since using WordPress for a while now i thought i’d write a list of some of the plugins that i use to enhance various features of this particular WordPress installation.

These are plugins that i wouldn’t want to be without since activating them in the admin interface. So here’s the list (in no particular order):
